Cupping, which has been used as a form of treatment since the time of our Prophet, has also started to take an active part in today's treatment system. While some people do it because it is the sunnah of our Prophet (S.A.V.), others apply it on the grounds that it is a cure for their ailments. Some of them make hijama application in terms of both healing and circumcision.
Regardless of the reason, it has been proven by today's studies that cupping, also known as bloodletting treatment, helps in the treatment of many diseases.
Cupping therapy is actively applied in many ailments such as blood pressure, circulatory disorders, general body and organ cleansing, headache, dizziness.
Hijama, which has started to be accepted again in today's treatment practices, is a form of treatment applied by our Lord 1400 years ago.
Even in a hadith, our Master the Prophet (S.A.V.) said, "Whichever angel community I come across while descending from Miraj, I say, 'O Muhammad (S.A.V.), order your ummah to be cupped!' they said, "he said.
In addition, our master recommended cupping to both his wives and companions, and he had them done. He also mentioned that there are cures for many diseases, and some of them are diseases such as cancer and leprosy.
The production of new blood cells instead of the blood cells taken and the health and calmness of the body depending on this new production constitute the point of view of today's medicine on cupping.
However, the perception of cupping in ancient medicine is slightly different from today's medicine. It reveals that cupping is effective in many areas of the body rather than the production of new blood cells. He also expresses the reason for this in the language of ancient medicine.
ancient medicine; Four elements are also active in the coordination of the body activities of the human being, which consists of fire, water, air and soil. As a result of this union, beneficial and harmful substances occur in the body. While blood is one of the beneficial ones; phlegm, love and black bile are also among the harmful things that occur in the body. Although many names are given to these pests in today's medicine, the most current and popular one has been toxins. And recent studies have seen these toxins in the background of many diseases and the main condition in treatment is detoxification, that is, cleansing the body.
These approaches show that today's medicine and ancient medical knowledge have basically agreed on antioxidant applications, although the names and techniques are different. In fact, many therapeutic applications in ancient medicine are based on antioxidant methods. Detox, which is today's fashion, was the main condition of treatment centuries ago and treatment systems were built on this.
Enema, vomiting, cauterization, honey syrup, blood draw and cupping are among the top priorities in removing the wastes accumulated in the old medicine. The cauterization with fire included in these treatments was later removed.
Hijama, which is the subject of our article, has always kept its place as the chief officer in the cleaning of the body.
Hijama places;
Hijama can be done from many parts of the body. Even new regions can be determined according to diseases. But the general and most suitable places are the back and the back of the head.
On the back, especially the 3 finger areas between the two shoulder blades, are the areas where the back energy lines are also located. Since these regions are the places where energy channels pass, situations such as energy lines not working in case of any waste accumulation occur. In these cases, the organs related to the power lines lose their ability to work and discomforts arise.
The head and back region is the center of the energy lines that are distributed to the head and the whole body. It is also the place where the blood supply to the brain is coordinated. For this reason, this area is actively used in the treatment of many ailments, including forgetfulness, vertigo and headaches.
Hijama times;
The first 15 days of Arabi months are times of increase in activities in the body and the universe. At these times, the activities are faster, the intensity and increases are more. These increases in the body begin to decrease after the first 15 days. Since cupping is the removal of what accumulates in the body, the application of cupping at the end of these first 15 days will provide maximum benefit. For this reason, the collection of the accumulated blood is also taken into account on the 17th, 19th and 21st days of Arabi months. In addition, every spring period is the period of organ and blood exchange. Preferring hijama during these periods will contribute to our health.
This schedule is valid for those who do it regularly every year. However, in emergencies that require treatment, hijama can be done at any time. Depending on the patient's condition, sometimes the days of the week and sometimes the days of the month can be taken into consideration.
Hijama can be repeated at most once a month, depending on the discomfort. It is appropriate to repeat it every three months. If there is no discomfort, it would be appropriate to apply hijama twice a year in spring for protective purposes.
